I have a i7 4770k on a hyper 212 with a evga gtx 1070 ftw? Bottleneck??

Just wondering when its worth it to upgrade ??

None of the games I play so far have issues

I know my next upgrade is gonna be mb cpu and ram

As none of it will work with the newer boards

If there aren't any issues and you're still happy with the performance, then it's not worth upgrading :)

You should only really upgrade if you feel like you need to upgrade, even tho a new CPU can be really tempting.

On some games and depending on your OS install and how cluttered it is. you might be having times where your cpu doesn't make the cut. however with a decent OC had....I would wait for the next 200$ r5 3600 replacement

Though you could start your new build with buying PSU,(like a Seasonic 80+Gold) Case, and Heatsink/Fans(Scythe Mugen 5 or Noctua) While they are on sale sometime .

oh...and if you are not on a SSD, Definitely upgrade to one.

1TB Nvme or a 1 TB 2.5" are only 100$(though the Nvme would require dual-boot OS and a converter card)

Quit dropping em then!

Yeah like the others said, you should only upgrade if you don't see the performance you want. Personally I'd still be using my 4790K with my titan Xp if i didn't get my 8086K

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

If the games you play don't have issues, just wait till they do. All of my games have issues aside from pubg. Sold the 4790k because it performed the same but somewhat playable. New gsync updates helped.

Main RIg Corsair Air 540, I7 9900k, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero, G.Skill Ripjaws 3600 32GB, 3090FE, EVGA 1000G5, Acer Nitro XZ3 2560 x 1440@240hz

Spare RIg Lian Li O11 AIR MINI, I7 4790K, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, G.Skill Ares 2400 32Gb, EVGA 1080ti, 1080sc 1070sc & 1060 SSC, EVGA 850GA, Acer KG251Q 1920x1080@240hz

Na i owned a 4790K with my GTX 1080 and in most games it was fine some games i had a slight bottleneck but not much.

OC your CPU you should get 4.4ghz or so on your cooler.

Try this 1.2V 4.0Ghz and then keep increasing the frequency until you hit 4.3-4.4 do not go beyond 1.25V as that is way to much voltage for your cooler on that CPU.

I had a golden 4790K i got 4.7Ghz at 1.225V 8 hours stable in XTU
