So this is my current system...

I'm running into an a massive CPU bottle neck when rendering using Cinema 4D rendering engine within AE.  All cores are pegged at 100%, and even overclocked to 4.1ghz with ram at 3333mhz C16, it's taking forever.

I'm considering switching to either the 570x and 3950x when it comes out, or go for the Intel 9980xe or 9900k.  Looking for advice.  Taking 1-3 days to render a few minutes of video isn't acceptable for me, unless it's all I can do.

Also, GPU isn't a bottle neck, nor is RAM amount in this case.  GPU barely gets hit (HW Monitor shows max it went was 23%) and Ram didn't go above 60% usage.

I'm open to suggestions.

Also... pretty impressed with the 1800x, being able to run for almost 28 hours straight now at 97% load constant.

Got a max budget? This is one of the tasks that the 32 core threadrippers are very good at, and there are rumors that there is a upcomming 64 core model. The 16 core threadrippers are still pretty good and pretty easy to get on sale.

I've considered TR, but it seems to dog behind the 3900x in testing (though, to be fair, I have yet to see a TR 32 core vs a 3900x).  I know LTT only does basic testing, video rendering and Cinebench but really doesn't get into the weeds with content creation instead of editing.

Budget would be 3-4k, just replacing Mobo and CPU.

This is a good benchmark for just cpu render times in cinema 4d https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Cinema-4D-CPU-Roundup-AMD-Ryzen-3-AMD-Threadripper-2-Intel-9th-Gen-Intel-X-series-1537/

Threadripper looks really good here,

Here is one for general ae work
