I want to build a gaming PC this summer before school starts! I need help.

Hello there, as you saw in the title, I want to build a beast gaming rig with a full setup. I have everything setup on a PCPartPicker list, but I need to know if I can exchange any parts that are not worth it or lower the price? I am buying the PC parts as soon as possible before school starts in a month. If you have any suggestions for my PCPartPicker please let me know or change the Parts yourself! I would be more than happy to check it out and hopefully go with it!
 

P.S: This is a Ryzen 3rd gen build, and also make sure the build is in Canadian dollar since I live in Canada if you ever planning on editing the PC Parts. Plus, make sure it is RGB since I am planning on doing a Rick and Morty Themed PC Build.

This looks like a very solid build. I wouldn't change anything about it. Maybe add a mousepad if you don't already have one? Otherwise, good job.

That is a really good system you have got together! I'm not sure about the SSD though. Crucial SSD's are really good for the price and i have been using a Crucial P1 1TB NVMe SSD in my laptop. It gives a solid performance for the price

It looks like a gaming/professional rig to me, will you use it just for gaming or also professional applications? Because if it is just for gaming, I would change:

 

- R7 3700x

- X470

- 16GB RAM

- 2070s or better

- 650w PSU (this PC is not a power hog, you can find calculators online)

- A better monitor, 1440p 144Hz IPS or VA, it would be a waste to pair this PC with this monitor

Yeah, 1TB SSD's are really worth it if you have the money. I will look into the Cruical 1TB SSD. Thank you for the reply!

This PC is for both gaming, streaming, editing. etc. But I agree with you that the monitor I pair this PC with is a waste. I am going to make sure to exchange it a 1440p 144hz IPS monitor. And with the power supply, I also agree with you, I might change it and save a few bucks. Thank you for your reply!

I mean you could still go 1440p if you wanted and maybe go with a 2070 instead.  You could go 32 instead on the ram too if you want.  

This is a very solid PC. I might look into it and see. The only thing I don't like about it is that there is no RGB xd. But everything else is a beast. I like how you switched out the PSU and the RAM for a 2080. I am looking forward into this build and try to change my setup a bit. Thank you!

You can change the stuff back to what I originally had it's just the only thing I forgot was the board.  Also, make sure when you get the headphones that it's gen 1 Aurvana as the gen 2s are crap, and the sound is a lot better than a gaming headset.  The mod mic attaches to the heaphones and basically turns it into a way better gaming headset.  The 5.1/7.1 virtual crap is a gimmick and makes the sound a lot worse.

Yeah for sure! Thank you very much for the edit.  I used to have the Aurvana 2s and yeah, they are pretty crap. The sound quality sounded out of performance. I am going to put the Aurvana gen 1 headphones with a blue snowball!

Spot on! Many people recommended me to put a ryzen 3 3700x to upgrade my gpu to a 2080 as well as my monitor. Therefore I might be doing it. Btw, the motherboard is not compatible with ryzen 3rd gen cpus . I need to send it to AMD to get a bios update in order to get it working. Other than that, everything is great thank you so much for taking your time building this PC part list! Much appreciated :).

The motherboard just needs a BIOS update for the 3800x to work with it which you can do yourself (not something very difficult). The x570 is not worth paying the extra money as it will give you no more of a performance bump over a x370 unless you really need a PCIe Geng 4. So the B450-F GAMING from Asus and the Tamhawk from MSI both were a great option. I like the B450-F GAMING more for its aesthetics.

Oh okay, I agree that it is a waste of money paying extra for the x570. My friend had a 3rd gen ryzen processor and updated the bios himself. I would look more towards the B450. Thanks!

This is an absolutely 99.9% considered build. Though, I would only change the HDD to 4tb because I tend to use A LOT of my storage on heavy editing and programming. I would also like to add rgb fans and replace the non rgb G.Skill with RGB. That is all I would change. Other than that, I would be leaving everything as it is.
