One of my friends is having an issue with his water-cooled system. Today he had a major leak happen and it could've destroyed his whole system. Not sure if it has yet or not but he thinks he's figured out the issue/what caused it. The only thing is, I'm not sure his reasoning for what happened to cause the leak is possible. I'm hoping someone on here can clarify and tell me if it is or not. I'm pretty sure he doesn't use PVC pipes (Will check on this and edit if need be).

What he thinks happened:

"Found the cause of the problem. Looks like the heat of the gpu has slightly melted the pipe and shrunk the diameter of it. That's essentially become too thin for the fitting to hold it in place."

If his componts are getting that hot then he has much bigger issues that what caused the leak.

EKWB provides these end fittings for PETG that can apparantly deform. But honestly in my opinion this happens to only morons who don't monitor their fluid temperatures.
