Just finished up my new PC yesterday and today I finally managed to get some time gaming with it. I’ve seen a lot online about 2080ti running hot when gaming and just want to check to see if my temps are ok, in your opinions. When gaming, the gpu immediately ramps up to 70C. Literally within the first couple of minutes, over the rest of the gaming session it tends to fluctuate at around 73-80C. It’s an EVGA gtx 2080ti XC using the aggressive fan curve from precision X1. My cpu temps seem fine, it tends to be below 55C. What do you guys think? Are these ok? Thanks!

that case is not the best in terms of airflow, it was better the meshify c, but you already have it

how did you set the fans in the front, top and back of the case?

I've got a h150i in the front as an intake, another 140mm fan as intake in the mid bottom of the case. A 140mm fan at the top as an exhaust along with a 140mm at the rear top as exhaust.

Good post goto10 my friend.  Let me note even 85c is great even 90c, then once you get close to 100c your playing with fire.  Also are you using any app to set a fan curve, perhaps your fans are not spinning fast enough ?

Wow, really? 85C still nothing to worry about? I am using EVGA precision X1 with the aggressive fan curve.

I have a XC and I get about the same.

The XC will down clock at 84c so staying below that is my goal.

With the power target at 130% and an slight overclock mine is at about 84c under load. Since it has really good silicon I may water cool it.

Here it what it looks like.

So when gaming your fan curve goes to 100 percent and your getting 80c is normal.  85c is ok as well.  But close to 90c could reduce the life span of the card and 100c is max,, that is boiling point and your really playing with fire and what not.

I see your fan is not spinning at 100 percent on this load you have given it ?  Take it to hundred percent my friend.  No wonder!!!  Also your 117mhz gpu overclock wont do diddley sh*T for your frame rate.  Only 200Mhz on VRAM ?  Only 200Mhz on the VRAM is a joke.  You should be able to go much much higher and not worry about things heating up and what not.

Temps are fine.  Do a bit more research next time when spending that kind of coin, since you're worried about it.   Under 80 is normal in that case especially when the AIO is in the front.

If you want, grab another 140mm fan and put it in the bottom as intake.  It's a quiet case, hence the solid front panel and sound insulating material all over.

I definitely will do, should have done more this time, you're very right about that!

I've already got one 140mm at the bottom as intake, would you suggest adding another in then?

This is a daily overclock and it is too noise under load. I like peace and quiet.

The 117 is to keep the temps below 84c. Higher and the card will down clock a 100mhz.

Vram gets hotter than the GPU with these cards. The heat builds up over time and does not drop fast like the GPU, so I only use 1000+ in benches. It is the same with my FTW3 Ultra.

I misread your previous post reply, so you only have 2 exhaust fans and 4 intake...  Add another 140 as exhaust on top then, to get more air passing thru the case at a decent clip.

Either way, 80c is nothing to the 2080Ti really.  It's a fine temp for it.

Ok, I have a spare fan so I will go for that. I'll have 4 intake and 3 exhaust, you think that might help a bit?
