But it is also 300$ more than the 2080S for a minimal performance boost.

Vaguely anyone would consider the 2080 Ti "better".

If you have the 1,100 or whatever it is burning a hole in your pocket then go for the 2080ti, as it is leading right now. But if you are really stuck between the shiniest of two golden turds (they are great gpus, just overpriced right now) then go for the 2080s.
