5700 XT worth the upgrade (Vega 64)?

Hey guys

 

I game at 3440x1440 on my Ryzen 2600 with 1x16gb 3600 CL16 ballistix AT on my b450 tomahawk.

 

I could resell my vega 64 nitro and get the 5700 XT for like £80(?) difference.

 

Alternatively, could upgrade from 2600 to 3600.

 

 

I mainly play BF5 and RS6 siege. My main problem is from bf5, hoped upgrading from my 4670k to a 2600 would make a difference, it didn't.

 

Which upgrade would get me more FPS? They both cost the same.

 

Also:

 

I own the Arctic Extreme IV.  I can stick it on the XT.

Why in the world would anyone get a single stock of 16gb rather than 2x8gb sticks is beyond me. Fix that before anything else.

Are you running 3600MHz XMP no problem on this? You surely need dual channel first

Now is that time, since it's causing performance loss vs dual channel.  You want better performance, there's some right  there.

Honestly, the 5700XT is 15% faster on average than the Vega 64 from what I can see.

 

Dual Channel RAM vs Single is about that too.

 

I'd get another 16GB stick now, then grab the 5700XT when the AIB cards come out.  I wouldn't get the blower style. 

 

If you get the 5700XT, now, you're leaving performance on the table with the RAM.  

 

Same as going with the 2600 --> 3600.   You have 3 paths for similar gains.  Your call.

I can't find another kit for £60. I would have to return them and replace them for a poorer performing dual channel kit.

It's simply that with single channel you get half the bandwidth, so it greatly bottlenecks the system. After that i'd upgrade to a 3600 before the GPU, you don't get huge gains from switching to the 5700 xt
