Should "I" get a SSD?

Since the SSD would get power from your PSU like all the rest of your components, it wouldn't fail any faster than your motherboard or GPU. They're not so much more sensitive. If your PC is surviving, the SSD will too.

Not having a basic surge protector while claiming such bad power makes no sense, you're exaggerating.  Playing Russian Roulette with your PC is just stupid.

It's obvious that I should definitely get a SSD, massive performance benefit!

BUT...I read a review on amazon of this guy who has similar condition like me. He got the SSD and it's dead in 2 days because of the regular power cuts.

My conditions are even worse. Even more longer power cuts, power fluctuation, transformer fuse blows in my area. Plus I don't have an UPS, PC is all directly connected to the wall, instant shutdown when power goes. And somehow my poor PC has survived for 6+ years.

With all that said...should I still get a SSD(SATA III)?

If you have a surge protector, it should be fine. Even a cheap surge protector provides a basic barrier, but be aware that surge protectors are limited use.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Do you have a decent PSU?

The PSU should be filtering out all of the imperfections ini your wall power.

Also SSDs are more durable than HDDs, I've had SSDs survive power surges that killed all the other PC components.

You need a UPS more than you need an SSD. Most modern SSD's have special power loss capacitors to keep them working fine but sooner or later your PSU will die on you with that kind of power.

Also surge protectors are NOT power conditioners!! They protect only against massive overvoltage situations and do nothing for undervolt which is even more dangerous to your system. Please don't promote the false sense of security that surge protectors will keep you safe in all conditions, they are mainly designed to protect from lightning strikes and nothing more.

If you get a cheaper SSD you will still see massive benefits over a HDD and have money to spare on a UPS. Every desktop on the planet should be on a UPS.

I had 2 UPS years ago in my same system. But my old AMD system sucks sooo much power, so it's just a direct shutdown within seconds. And I'm never spending $200 on a powerful UPS.

A 600W UPS - which can handle a 200W cpu (i7 9xxx series) and two 200W GPU's (RTX 2080's) for long enough to shut down your computer costs $150 source

If you have a system *that* powerful the total cost of the computer would be over $2000, you're telling me that you can't spend 10% of total system cost to protect it?

And if your system isn't that over the top a normal 650VA ups with a decent 300+W rating will allow you a safe shutdown and keep your PSU much happier for a long time to come.

I've seen my fair share of burnt out GPU's and hdd's and whatnot from power issues in the past. Skimping on a battery backup is penny wise, pound foolish.

Also good luck trying to warranty those parts if they get killed by obvious power spikes or burnt  components, good chance it's warranty void.

Lastly I believe the MX500 ssd's have power off protection built in and possibly the WD blue series too, those are both very affordable and plenty fast options.

Yes that will happen if you don't use a SP like fasauceome said.  The worst thing you can do is not use a PS, be happy your system hasn't blown up.  SSD's never go bad and if it does there is two reasons. 1.  Its a POS SSD from a unknown company or 2.  You take out the SSD and bang it against the wall and break it.

Yes my friend.  Hard Disk Drives are mechanical movement and are always spinning at 7200RPM and can go bad at any time.  SSD is NAND Flash no moving parts.  HDDs will die on you and start making a clicking noise.  So yes grab it and it will change your life.

I've heard that before, I'm more concerned about damage from electric changes

Get a quality Power Surge as we said before and you will have no worries my friend.  Don't plug it straight to the wall.
