Am I missing something? (Mouse HELP STILL NEEDED :)

What is the point of ALL those 8200 dpi sensors.? Because that is WAAAY too fast to use!

My understadning is that you only use ot when in high res monitors (4k) or surround! Is that correct?

Now on to why I am asking this!!!!!!

I am comparing two mice to buy BOTH AT SALE AND A STEAL!!! (Not literally)

First is the perixx mx2000ii vs mx3000b

Mx2000ii has: better button layout, and better software!

Mx3000b has: higher dpi sensor, ( and 2 bucks cheaper but that does NOT matter)

Both at amazon

I am using one 1080p screen and one 900p screen (auxiliary not surround)

Is the 4000 mor dpi worth the worst button layout and software? Or is it just nonesense?

get the Mx2000ii the ergonomics of the mouse looks better. the max you will probably use is 1200dpi lol.

On my current mouse I find my self using 3200dpi a lot sooo yeah thanks though

Go for the better ergonomics. You can always make up for the lack of dpi by adjusting the sensitivity in games or in windows

High DPI is usually just marketing gimmick. You want to set your Windows mouse speed to 6 / 11 and disable mouse smoothing (acceleration). Use the mouse then to determine a DPI that is fast enough for you, or use games' own sensitivity sliders if needed. Most pro gamers prefer low (less than 1000) DPI because it means better accuracy.

 

Higher DPI does NOT mean better.

DPI  has always been set right across Accuracy. If shooters is your thing than this is especially an issue.It's the difficult compromise between speed and accuracy 

 

OT:  

Some comments on the 3000 say the mice doesn't actually deliver the promised DPI. Take the awful palm rest and annoying button layout also in account and I don't know why anyone would spent money for that crap.

Also, I'm not a 100% in dollar prices etc, but 30$ for a gaming-rated mice sounds like nothing. So sure the usb-cable is gold plated etc but it doesn't say anything about how long the mice will endure.

Still, if your question is only between the 2000 and 3000 mouse, pick the 2000 one.

 

Any personal preference aside, I don't think you will need more DPI. If you are used to 3200, it will also take a whole lot of time to get the precision right if you switch to any higher. You could get more DPI, just be ready for at least a month of nuisances. 

If you spent more than the usual buck for a computer mouse, you really want a good mice and stick with it for at least a year. (or longer) So I wouldn't go shopping for a mouse online, just go to a local store who has gaming mice and decide which layout suits you the best. Yes you can save 30$ by going for this mouse and maybe it's all perfect for you. But you don't want to spend 30$ and annoy yourself with it for the next year because it has some lame features and you don't want to throw it away.
