Corsair support is trying to downgrade me on a PSU return

So recently my CS750M PSU died, which is their mid tier power supply, and now they are offering to replace it with their CX750M, which is their entry level power supply. They don’t make the one I have any more. What should I do?

i5-8600k, MSI Z370-A Pro, 2x 8GB DDR4-3k, MSI Gaming X 1060, NZXT S340, 2TB HDD, 750w Corsair PSU, AOC 2775 OC'd to 80Hz and CFG73 at 144hz

You can try arguing that they're replacing your product with an inferior one, and that the TX750M is a more suitable replacement since it's also 80+ Gold and semi-modular. Past that, I'm not so sure.

Try to make them give you a TX or a refund.

 

But I think the newer (gray) CX are acutely not that bad band better than your old one

FOLDING MONTH 2021! GOGOGO and save on some heating costs 🙂

What makes you think the CS is better than the CX? All I've ever heard are bad things about the old green label Corsair units, and how their modern units are far better. The CXM is far newer than the CSM, I'd personally take it and consider it an upgrade.

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

CXM are amazing, I haven't had any issues with mine

CSM was actually pretty decent. Cliff notes are Great Wall made unit with DC-DC, Half bridge + LLC Resonant converter, 40°C temp rating. Should be a 140mm FDB on the 750 & 850w models as well. It was actually significantly better than the green label CX/CXM units of the time. Despite this though it had a rather short warranty period of only 3 years... So I'm surprised it's still under warranty!

Nice! Makes sense since they're both 80+ Gold efficient semi-modular PSUs, ie. what most people would consider to be an equivalent product.

The people above are correct, cx is much better than cs from what I've heard

The people are not correct at all, and the people you've heard are wrong. Read what Spotty wrote, and also keep in mind that the TXM is very similar to the CSM, with minor changes.
