Windows 7 vs Windows 8.0?

Neither, just go with Win10 already, if you want Classic Shell among other things (all easily accessible through a google search) will have it looking like and behaving like Win7 in no time.

Because windows 8.0 was almost universally disliked and adoptionrate was awful iirc.

Windows 10 is best, i have never had an issue with windows 10 gaming wise.. Windows 8 tho is awful. Windows 7 support is ending in a few months so best to just upgrade

Imo there's no Win8. Only 8.1. And if you don't own either, buy neither. Win7 looses support next year officially, and few years after that unofficially. Win8.1 comes right after it. Win10 isn't as bad as some conspiracy theory wizards here claim.

Go ahead then. It's still likely that Microsoft goes Apple route and doesn't release any new OS version. They will just continue updating 10. And eventually other popular software will stop supporting any other Windows version. This has already happened with XP and Vista (Steam and Chrome for example). The due date for new OS has already past...
