Hi,

I'll keep it short. I have the case "Chieftec UNI Series UE-02B Mini Tower", and I want a wireless card (WiFi and Bluetooth) for this case. The issue is the fact that it is 10,5 cm (approximately 4 freedom units) wide, so I can't seem to find a card that will fit.

Is this just completely none standard or am I just bad at finding one?

A side question if applicable, how do USB WiFi adapters compare to dedicated cards? Could that be a solution instead?

if so what you can do is buy a normal one and uh get a hacksaw and just saw off the rest of the pci bracket linus tech tips style

Yeah that would be fitting :p but it is for my dad, and I don't think he would be comfortable with hacksawing his way out of it unfortunately.

While most modern wifi pci cards are small enough to fit a half height case, almost nobody makes a bracket for them, as the demand for them is essentially zero.
The thinking is if you have a small case you don't need the wireless performance so you just get a USB wifi adaptor.

I do however know that this exists:

This is just a board that converts the Half Mini size card into a standard PCI express slot.
You do need to buy the wifi card and separate antenna for it.

I've not used one, but apparently you get them in some dell desktops.

Many wireless cards come with half height bracket adapters for this exact reason

As far as USB options go, they can be decent so long as they're positioned correctly. Usually I actually recommend sticking them into the front of your case; since the antenna is small and internal, having it behind a lot of metal and electronics can weaken the signal to an access point.
