You don't have a virus, but your password and email address were exposed in a data breach elsewhere.

Pop your email address in to haveibeenpwned.com and it will probably have record of a few data breaches. Keep in mind is not a comprehensive list so there could be services that have been breached that aren't shown there.

Change your passwords on all sites you visit and be sure to use unique passwords for each site. Also change your password to your email address as well.

Maybe go with stronger passwords than what is listed in that email as well, including upper and lower case, numbers & symbols.

yup, its just automated to use the mass data from breaches to get money from people

since they do have your email, i would  suggest changing it, or have a strong password (more than 8 characters/symbols/numbers), cause if you dont they can easily brute force your accounts with that email

I actually did that..however..it doesn't want to start. It gives me a "service is unable to run"  .. so I can't even use malwarebytes

why is it going to be trouble tho?

Just ignore the email. You can change your passwords, use Authenticator or a similar service, a password manager if you really want to be sure that you're safe. You said you don't have a webcam so you already know the sender is bluffing.

any recommendations on password managers or authenticators?

Stuff like that is okay. I often link to the website for programs like HWinfo64, MSI Afterburner, DDU, etc. Posting links to websites that will help people is fine.

I would recommend LastPass for password manager and Google Authenticator for 2FA. Some services like Steam you can use their own authenticators such as SteamGuard 2FA.

If a site allows for 2FA then I would recommend using it, as even if they get your password they won't be able to access the account without the 2FA code.
