An unknown part in my motherboard

Hi i'm not 100% sure but i think my brand new graphics card will have an 8 pin thing and i need the 8 pins ( idk much about pc's). Anyway in the picture below i circled a part of my motherboard that had a 4 pin thing attached to it. So im asking if i need to attach it back or if it isnt necessary. Thanks!

That is your CPU power, or commonly referred to from the Power Supply as EPS 12v. This is what provides the power needed to run your CPU and keep it fed. Without it... your PC wont work.

24 pin provides power to the motherboard.. makes literally everything else work thats not the RAM or CPU.

This isn't true.  You don't feed your CPU . . . you water it.
