Hey guys,

I'm posting this because lately my internet has been crap and I have not idea why. (I'm a newb techy)

So with nothing else on the network turned on I get:

What I was getting roughly a week ago:

So even though I had all other devices on the network turned off while doing BOTH tests (I test every week or so) I thought it might be helpful to know the devices I have anyways.

They are as follows

-Wired

 -Xbox 360

-PC I'm typing this on (Has Killer Ethernet 2200)

-Wireless

 -Parents PC

 -Playstation 3

My provider is telus and I'm supposed to be getting 15 Mb/s down, don't know about up.

We (my family) pay roughly $50 Canadian a month, THIS INCLUDES PHONE.

If anyone knows anything that would help I would be very grateful

EDIT: If I'm correct this should go in troubleshooting section, sorry.

EDIT 2: My parents PC, which is wireless is getting roughly 7 Down and .79 Up.

Your parents are getting 7 what? Mb, MB, Kb?

1- Powercycle the modem.  Turn it off, unplug it and leave it there for about 30 seconds and turn it back on.

2- Leave it off for for an hour or so. You could be getting a bad port at your local exchange server. If you leave it off, you may be reconnected to a good one.

2- Is it DSL? Pick up your telephone and listen for noise on the land line. If there is noise, there's your problem.

3- Try another line filter. If your DSL line filter is not filtering your phone properly, it could be causing problems.

4- Reset your modem to default factory settings.

5- Call you telephone provider and ask them to do a line test.

If your parents are getting good speed, then you want to reinstall your network adapter and make sure you don't have torrent running in the background (specially if you haven't configured the allowed speeds)

If your parents are getting 7 times the speed you are on your PC, then I think your "Killer" NIC is a piece of crap ;)

Sorry for multiple posts, however. I've had this PC for 2 weeks. About 9 days ago I was getting 15Mb Down / 1Mb Up. (which is what it is supposed to be at)

There is no card. The killer Ethernet is on the motherboard. However yesterday I had to fix a different PC. First thing I did after I fixed it was plug in cat6. And go to speed test.net. I was getting about 7Mb Down and .7 Mb Up.
