Ok so basically, I was roaming around the streets in my neighborhood, and I found a UPS and a rack-mounted server,

I'm thinking of making the UPS portable by putting it in a bandwagon or something to use in picnics or something, but I have zero clue what do do with the server.

The UPS is a HP R1500XR, and the server is a Sophos UTM 220.

Thanks!

If the server was on the streetside as trash, it could be busted. Gutting it for parts after vetting its functionality would be my first move, and also testing the UPS.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Thats a Firewall IA (Internet Appliance), not a server in the traditional use of the word. Also quite old, if I was looking at the right thing. UPS likely has a bad battery, though these are sometimes easy to replace.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Who would trash a good UPS and server? This sound so fishy.... Where did you happen to "roam" to "find" a server and UPS up for grab? In a business' server room?

Looking it up, that Sophos thing seems to be a router/firewall.

Did you check if the batteries in the UPS are still working? If not, there are ways to change them on the cheap.

something smells fishy! lol also found a usb?

Finds a random USB on the street... puts in computer.... either lying or a complete idiot... because only an idiot would put a 'found' unknown usb in their computer. Could be full of all kinds of malware and planted just waiting for some idiot to come along and allow it to be installed on their system.

Either way... dumb.

System 1: Gigabyte Aorus B450 Pro, Ryzen 5 2600X, 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz, Sapphire 5700XT, 250GB NVME WD Black, 2x Crucial MX5001TB, 2x Seagate 3TB, H115i AIO, Sharkoon BW9000 case with corsair ML fans, EVGA G2 Gold 650W Modular PSU, liteon bluray/dvd/rw.. NO RGB aside from MB and AIO pump. Triple 27" Monitor setup (1x 144hz, 2x 75hz, all freesync/freesync 2)

System 2: Asus M5 MB, AMD FX8350, 16GB DDR3, Sapphire RX580, 30TB of storage, 250GB SSD, Silverstone HTPC chassis, Corsair 550W Modular PSU, Noctua cooler, liteon bluray/dvd/rw, 4K HDR display (Samsung TV)

I have done a few malicious ducky usb's around work just to see how many people would plug them into their OFFICE pc. All it did was send an email with their computer name and user ID but i was amazed how many people plugged them into their work machines. (i would like to clarify I work in the security and infrastructure team and this was cleared and approved by management)

I "Found" the USB in my school at a date that was earlier when I found these Server's and UPS. Turns out the USB was a friends, and he just gave it to me. The USB was blank, he found it at his house.

Yes, the Server works, but has a login and a password which I don't know. The UPS i still haven't tested, but it didn't explode when I plugged it in, so I think it should work fine. Any Ideas what to do with the Sophos thing?

Ok, so after plugging in and testing the (loud) server, there is a boot menu which requires an login with a password. This is not windows, or

Linux this is UTM 9.5. It says for me to go on a website (192.168.1.1:4444), and configure everything there. So i connected to the server through Ethernet and went onto the website, but there is a login there as well. Anyone know how to reset the password or bypass this login?
