Uhm... Yes! Without compatibility, your PC won't run.

BUT, not every RAM has been tested for compatibility by motherboard manufacturers, especially on the Intel platform, where it mostly doesn't matter.

So I would say you most likely just fine with picking any RAM you want.

RAM is quite broadly compatible across the board for most motherboards unless you go trying to buy 16GB sticks or very high speed memory in either instance if the CPU doesn't support it either the system wont POST or you won't get what you paid for.

I usually buy from G.Skill and have never ran into a compatibility issue.

Now servers on the other hand can be picky when it comes to memory compatibility and even this is subject to the manufacturer of the board.

im done with g skill. i bought 2 times from them 3000mhz 32 gb trident z. and both times the rams are defective. the first one my pc wont install windows i was like whats going on. i removed one stick and was able to install windows again. so i called them and they sent me another pair. now im experiencing fps drops, stuttering in games and etc. i tried to troubleshoot everything, reformatting my pc and etc nothing worked. i did a mem86 test yesterday. and i got 4 errors. which i know for w fact mem86 shouldnt give any sort of errors for healthy stick. thats why i wanna go with corsair this time.

It's too bad to hear your luck with them was poor. I ran mem86 over a 8x8GB kit (64GB) and it completed with no errors. In my lifetime of buying only G.Skill memory I have had 1 stick fail and that was only after it served it's purpose and I was done with it.

I get the feeling the issue isn't the quality of the stick in manufacturing but what happened to it between departing the factory and arriving in your motherboards DIMM slots. You have to figure if G.Skill had a low success rate on their products due to quality they wouldn't be as popular as they are.
