gpu or cpu upgrade?

current system specs:

cpu-pentium g3220@3.00ghz 

ram-4gb ddr3 ram

mobo-gigabyte h81-M gaming 3 lga 1150

gpu-hd 4350 

Im thinking bout ryzen 3000 series for cpu upgrade/system or a vega 56 or rtx 2060 for a gpu upgrade 

so what should i upgrade?

Yes< Ryzen 3000 for CPU.  

 

So hold your horses and wait for them to be benched ;)

 

I'd get a 2080Ti to go with it, and probably 4TB NVMe storage as well to future proof and not bottleneck.

i think Im not gonna go above the rtx 2060 or its super variant and for the time being what should I upgrade first gpu or the cpu I can wait for ryzen 3000

There's little to nothing salvageable in your system if you're looking at upgrading to any of those parts. The old very low end video card is hardly good for more than a display output.

 

As soon as you put much more than $60-100 into a gpu you'll have pushed far past the usefulness of a 2c/2t cpu, but at least it will play games unlike if you tried to use that gpu in anything more powerful.

 

That computer also probably uses less power than many laptops, if you're trying to stretch out your build I'd highly suggest to start with a new case and power supply provided that your motherboard is ATX or micro ATX so you'll even have the ability to use the higher end gpu that you get. That is of course assuming it is currently using a power supply more suitable for it's current power requirements.

Thanks! and yeah totally forgot to mention my psu is 600 watts and well Im getting a new case this week!
