Running out of Storage With No More HDD Cage space left

I currently have a 970 pro 500gb as my boot drive and a 2 and 4tb wd black drives with a spanned volume. I am almost running out of space and my hard drive cage can only fit 2. I had to take the others out to fit a 360mm radiator in the font. I Like my case and don't want to get a new one. What drives would you recommend for expanding more? I was thinking about getting 2 12tb WD Red pro drives (7200rpm) but I don't know how performance will be compared to my blacks or if they are loud. Also, Is it easy to duplicate drives with an spanned volume?

What about an external harddrive enclosure? You can get some that sport multiple harddrives and perform quite well. If you can use eSATA I would suggest it as it has faster transfer speeds than that of USB, despite USB's higher theoretical performance (due to converting signals).

I'd like to keep all my drives internal especially because my maids are notorious for moving things and knocking things off my desk. Steam and many other programs don't like external drives and I don't have any eSATA ports. I plan on using these drives for storing games videos and programs.

use a HDD dock and keep the drives away in a drawer somewhere when you're done? windows pretty much just treats my external drives like any other internal HDD.

Yeah. I just kinda want all my drives internal. Honestly the thing that is a concern to me is performance of the 7200rpm red pro drives compared to the blacks.

Why not invest in a NAS then? 24TB is a lot of storage and I personally wouldn't want Red drives right next to me.

I''ve heard that the newer red drives are pretty quiet. I cant have a nas because it is going to hold things like my steam library which over my gigabit ethernet is going to load pretty slow. The only thing I'm concerned about is the speed of the Red Pro drives.

You could leave most of your games on the NAS and leave 100GB or so free on an SSD in your PC and just move games to and from the NAS. Or, if you have some 5 1/4 bays left, just throw in a hot-swap bay and put some drives in there.

Grab an SSD for just games then? 500gb ssd's are pretty damn cheap these days.
