£2000 Gaming Rig

Hello

I'm putting together a build for someone that I know, they have a budget of £2000 for the entire rig: Tower, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse etc, maybe a wireless wifi PCIe extension. I've thrown this together so far,

, but I'm still wondering if I should go AMD or Intel - he'll mostly be using it for gaming, hence why I didn't shove a 2700x in and call it a day. I'm just here to ask if there's anything in the parts list you think should be changed and if you have any suggestions for which CPU/Mobo/cooler to go for :)

Edit: The peripherals were just some stand-ins I used for pricing, I'll ask him about any specifics he'd like. He did mention that he wanted the absolute best performance possible for £2000 with some wiggle-room above the budget, I'm 95% sure he also said he wanted it to be black and sleek, but I'm sure as long as it looks nice he'll be fine with it. So: black and white? I'd like to keep it as simple as possible ;)

Thanks for the help,

vK

If he has some wiggle room to the budget, he can get a 9900K and still have some leftover for the peripherals

just get him that ryzen 3 1200 for $60 bucks right now and a good motherboard so he can upgrade to a low TDP high performance zen 2 ryzen 5! noctua d-15 or d-14 for a long lifespan high performance air cooler. there are cheaper ones that perform pretty similar if you want to do some of that research but I would go with an air cooler for sure.

the ryzen 5 3600 msrp is $200 so that plus the 1200 is as much as a i5-9600k and the ryzen 3600 should even be faster.

Could go a little cheaper on the PSU, the G2 is good but the price is too high as of right now.

It may be necessary to buy a Display Port cable.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Just wait 3/4 weeks for Ryzen 3xxx. Even if you end up going with current Ryzen and B450 you will get more for your money.

Oh you were adding the cost together. I thought you were saying "plus, the 1200 is as much as the 9600k"
