Modularity, powerful (said by Apple), customizable.

I'm so thrilled.

Never saw them talk about price, so I'm kinda terrified for the higher end versions...

Otherwise, I'm excited that windows desktops will finally have proper competition again.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Some how, Apple will still fuck this up. There seems to be a lot of shrouding inside the case (looking at the .gif at the end) which makes me wonder where they think all that air is gonna exit from? Hot air rises, all good cases have exhaust fans at the top in addition to the rear. I don't think Apple has a design for evacuating the air, but they do have one for bringing it in. Baby steps I guess. But I hope to be proven wrong on launch day.

It's $5999 for an 8 core cpu, 256gb ssd and 32gb ram, no screen, hdd or peripherals or gpu.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Apple will also sell an I/O module that adds two additional Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB-A ports and a 3.5mm audio jack, and there’s an optional “Afterburner” dedicated video editing card that uses an FPGA to process up to 6 billion pixels per second.

Hm, so it doesn't even include a headphone jack? Dang apple. Nice that it's includes lots of modularity (for an apple device, anyways.)

Starts at 5999$. I expect the maxed out version be like 20k.

The monitor is 4999. The stand for the monitor is 999. Vesa mount is 199.

I just feel that, beside specs, price and whatever, the design looks very dated to me.. Like this would been fire in 2008, hell even the MacPro G5 looks more current than this. I'm not a Mac person whatsoever, but at least their other stuff do look like they have been made in this decade

Looks like the hardware in the base Mac Pro is worth a resounding $1300, so where does the other stuff come in to add up to $6,000?
