Both the i7-6700 and i3-8100 are 65W TDP.

That is an Intel TDP, so basically meaningless. The i7 7700k, and the 8700k, and the i9 9900k are all 95 watts, somehow.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

That's not the point. The point is, across the board, the 6700 will draw more power and produce more heat. Even at idle. You can sell the 6700 for MORE THAN £100, and get the 8100 for £100, giving you a PROFIT along with less power draw and less heat. That's a win-win across the board.

1000h idle and you have a 1kwh difference :D Way better and a very good point sir.
