So should i get a RTX 2080 with a freesync panel, or a RTX 2070 with a g-sync panel. Planning to do 144hz at 1080p

Nvidia cards support Freesync now, so go with the 2080.

G-sync is pointless these days.

 

Also if you want to save a little, you can allways grab a Radeon 7 instead.

The radeon vii is 730€ here while the RTX 2080 is at 700€

id personally pick a Radeon 7, though i will say ive got some gripes with Nvidia. 

 

if the RTX 2080 is cheaper then its more or less the better value option, unless you are doing workstation stuff. 

 

btw get yourself a 144hz 1440p panel, they are relativly cheap these days.

I'd choose neither. I'd get a vega 64 with a freesync panel. You don't need a 2080 for 1080p unless you want crazy framerates in assassins creed odyssey. Other than that horribly built game, vega 64 is perfect for 1080p 144hz. It also gives you a little bit of space for another 2 or 3 years to maintain 144hz. The RTX 2070 costs an arm and a leg for pretty minimal performance gains over vega 64 and rtx 2060.
