My pc is slowing down help. I dont know what to do.

JoeyThePixelGuy

Hi my pc is slowing down i think, i have tested my pc like 2 months ago and i got like 99 fps on the score in cinebench R15, then i tested like 2 days ago again i got like 85 fps. i didn't change or touched anything in my pc in those months. i tested like 10 times and it stays at 85 fps. i also play Beat saber in VR alot, and it is really unplayable. It has always worked for me, i had no lagg 90 FPS smooth. but now it laggs like crazy i just cant play it anymore. and this occurs in every game that i play. i have updated my drivers and it still doesnt work.

A power back up https://www.amazon.com/s?k=UPS&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

It helps clean up the power coming into your computer. Poor quality line voltage can effect performance though usualy if you have a decent power supply it does a fairly good job cleaning the power before it gets to your components.

The other thing that could be causing performance issues is wonderful wonderful Windows.  If i were you I would keep my eye on it and if it continues to drop off under the same load, settings, etc. then you may want to try doing a fresh windows install and go from there.

Universal Power Suply

Also you might just have some CPU hungry process that got an update. Try updating everything, drivers, games, programs. see if that helps. also check if there is a BIOS update.

In my line of work normally its some program being wonky, then next in the list is Windows being wonky, next in the list is malware and lastly is a failing component. It could also be a compatibility issue because you dont have a mainline CPU

sounds like windows is being broken or you have malware. I can recomend some tools to help remove your malware if there is any. What is your antivirus

After working in IT for the last 5 years, I can say that most issues can be fixed without doing a clean install although a clean install would most likely fix the issue unless its malware related.

if there is malware, its already compromised your antivirus. your best bet is to run an external tool that has never seen your pc before to get the best gauge of if there is a problem
