My laptop is on the verge of death and I need a new system, and I am going to make my won computer. I go from house to house every week, so I need a case that can be really easy to transport. Some requirements:

Need:

Very portable
Space for a 780Ti (superclocked if possible)

Small as possible so probably Mini ITX (prefered the ASUS ROG Impact)

1Tb 3.5 HDD from WD

128Gb 2.5 SDD

Atleast the cpu watercooled

Want:

780Ti watercooled

Full ATX psu

Window

If a window room for a corsair link kit (fans and lights)

not a window room for corsair link kit (only fans)

Different options I have come up with:

Corsair 250D: Watercooled 780TI, Link ready, window and full atx; On the large side, not sure how portable it is

Hadron Hydro: Water cooled 780Ti, Window, very small, link ready, portable; have to do the wc myself(I have only built a small server before so I dont trust myself yet.)

Asrock M8: Very small, very portable, window, link ready, not the m/b i want; no wc, barebones

Silverstone Raven RVZ01: Very small, portable, customizable; no wc

Xigmatek Aquila: Link ready, Full ATX PSU, Window, cpu wc, very portable; mATX, bigger than even the 250D

If you have any suggestions or comments please let me know! Thanks!

The M8 is the most portable, you also don't want to WC if you're moving it around that's just asking for trouble. You won't be able to power a 780Ti and a system off of an SFX PSU which is all that will fit in the M8, the Hadron only has a 500w which is pushing it for a 780Ti build.

The 250D is a pretty good case, but don't watercool if you're gonna be moving around a lot. Watercooled rigs don't like that, as they tend to get a little moist, it seems.

Node 304 if you can just get a air cooler. It is one of the smallest cases around.

just get like an m8, and watercooling is bad if you want portability. And if you mean something like a h100i, don't its loud and you're better off with an air cooler with noctua fans.

I like the Silverstone and the Ximatek, I am going to do a little research on them, Thanks!

np. The silverstone is not for water cooling but the ximatek is a great watercooling case.

Water cooling and portability seem like horrible ideas to be mixing together...

Something like an AIO cooler might be better, as they're generally meant to be sealed.

Or get a heavy heatsink and have it fall off and destroy everything lol @ Logan

Any cooler that would be big enough to do that wouldn't fit in any proper itx case and pretty much every cooler nowadays has a very very secure mounting system. The only way something like that can happen is if people who don't know better or don't care are too rough with the hardware. Obviously the OP wouldn't be so even if they had one of the larger itx cases that are available they wouldn't go tossing it around like some brain dead FedEx worker.

What's the system being used for? Is value not an issue?

if you want small id go for a matx sg10 as it s smaller than a 250d and a bag is custom made to transport it. btw aio watercooling isn t worth it.

I am really digging that bag, and why do you say wc isnt worth it?

Node 304 hands down best bet.

Very small and still be able to wc the cpu

I m not saying ALL watercooling isn t worth it, I m saying AIO watercooling isn t in sff rigs (except the cm elite 130 which is purpose made for aio only)

why because in a SFF pc like you want you don t have space for a custom loop unless you rly cram it in there...,

the biggest you can fit in say a node 304 would be a h80 (Idk if a h90 fits) but then a nhd14 will perform almost the same just quieter(the noctua).

On the other hand if you go h100 and 250d, you end up with a case way bigger than it needs to be just for the option of running the watercooling that might be a 4C lower(optimistic there) than a decent air cooler,

your cpu wont feel that difference at all.

but you ll feel the 50+% bigger case size.

(comparing a say hadron(16L) to a 250d(28L), you get a 75% bigger case just to run a h100...

BTW the bag will work with the node 305 (i m pretty shure but you should double check the case dimension with the bag compatibility list)

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.
