New Android Phone Reccomendations (£400)

Hey,

Title says it all. I am (finally) retiring my old Huaewi Honor 6X. But... I am a bit clueless when it comes to smartphones nowadays - I want to spend about £400 (~$520) on a new android (or maybe even dare I say it Apple device). I just want something that has a really nice display and a camera good enough for scanning documents (as I do this literally all day at university). Any reccomendations?

Cheers.

In 8 days the OnePlus 7 will be released. It might be a bit outside the budget range, but not by a lot, and it might cause a drop in the price of the 6T.

Or you might consider the Pocophone F1 from Xiaomi, just add GCam to it and you're ready to take good photos. It's a good phone, lacks only NFC.

Thanks for letting me know about the 1+ 7. Hopefully it will make the 6T price drop.

You could possibly look into a Samsung S9 since you mention you need a good display and camera, which are arguably Samsung's biggest strengths, especially since it uses a SAMOLED panel. Not sure if it may be too oversaturated for what you're going to do.

Amoled = Oled, it's simply Samsung's own marketing name :P

Also, the times where Oled meant oversaturated are long long over. Samsung still has a Mode where Colors "pop" more, but there are also Modes with a VERY high Color Accuracy (Photo mode should be sRGB, while Video mode is DCI-P3 i think).
