Ping spikes

someone in my game server says it sounds like the cable is damaged. ive not moved it or anything tho. could it be that?

Run HWMonitor in the background and see your max cpu usage, It could be a ssd latency issue, I have had a SSD in the past spike up to 3000ms+ and just cause all kinds of issues. Check this using task manger you go to options and check always on top go to performance tab and select the drive and watch Average response time. Try lowing you graphics settings in your game to low and see if that helps any. Do one thing at a time so you can rule things out.

Its possible but unlikely it would be affecting more than just your games, but if you have a spare laying around it be worth a shot.

ill try that now. how come out of no where this starts tho. seems really weird...  i just wanna play some games

Every issue starts somewhere, unfortunately.

Are you on latest nvidia driver 430.39 from 4/23/19? I know there been alot of issues with this driver. I had to roll back myself.

i updated it to that last night so i dont think its that as the lag has been happening for a few days now.
what response time do i want on my samsung evo 860 ssd?

well nothing unusual on task manager. 40-70% cpu usage 60% gpu and 10gb ram usage.

Under 50ms most of the time should be under 15ms

ima go try squad on the pc in the living room. only has a 750ti and amd x4 860k but i just wanna see the ping.

same fucking shit. 400 ping spikes on that pc too. its either my router or my ISP then. 

20 fps on lowest settings 728p resolution.

i  just played some escape from tarkov and had no issues. hmm. Mordhau has said about server issues. not sure about Squad tho.

It depends, how is the antenna connected to the router? Ethernet or Coax?

there is a coax cable spool against the wool but the router was already set up when we moved in a few years ago. the grey cable goes to the router and the black cable goes through the ceiling onto the roof which i gues goes to the antenna.

Okay so it probably got a signal meter on the antenna itself would be my guess, is your Router IP address a public or private IP? The antenna could a static IP that has a GUI that you might beable to access but at that point your getting into what the ISP should be checking.

when we moved in the guy from the internet company set it to a dynamic ip address.


im in a really shitty place in my life atm and games take my mind of real life stuff. playing that new game Mordhu and ill just teleport every 15 seconds. 50-60 ping then all of a sudden 260. its the same exact number of spike every damn time. its like capped to spike at that ping.

sorry for bump. just want to let the people who helped me know. its finally fixed, my ISP replaced something in the repeater after i said we were going to leave if it wasnt fixed shortly. 
finally i can play games online
