To my experience the only feed that motherboard submits before reaching operating system is VGA signal.

But crazily enough my pre-built doesn't feature VGA.

VGA: None

DVI-I: None

DVI-D: 1

HDMI: 1

Mini DisplayPort: 0

DisplayPort: 1

It has Windows 10 installed but I want to be master of my computer. I'm afraid that if I put new SSD in it, I won't be able to install new OS and there might be some crazy locker that once you take out HDD, it won't reboot the same system, issue I could resolve easily with VGA output.

Any ideas on how to approach this? I want to put in new SSD, perform Linux and Windows installation.

That's weird.

Try DVI and make sure to mash the living hell out of the BIOS key.

You can access bios on any monitor connected with any cable. The VGA part is the resolution it runs at (480p I think).

Your computer likely has fast boot enabled, which makes accessing BIOS much harder as the time period to press the F2/Del/whatever button is very tiny.

It doesn't make sense that BIOS would only work over VGA. I have never heard of a board that would impose such limitation because it doesn't make any sense.
