Is this a good first build?

RekmRenzo

I'd go with a TXM 650w PSU instead of the G3 for cheaper (it's a better PSU). Otherwise it's a solid build. If this is for gaming only you'll actually do better with an i5 9400F and a Gigabyte Z390 UD for less money. Also, while an HDD is okay, I think you'd like an SSD better (even if you have to get a little less capacity). At this price point I'd say you should do an SSD.

$118.90 -$20.00 FREE   $98.90 OutletPC   Buy

$840  gonna add and ssd

a) I don't like EVGA PSU as they don't offer anything interesting.

A good alternative would be bitfenix Whisper M, be quiet Straight Power 11. If you want it Cheap, ST55F-GS V3.0.

b) no SSD?? THat's essential!!

WIth a different PSU you can get at least a 250GB one, though 500GB or 1TB is recommended.

You can get something OKish for ~100€, wich means not getting the HDD right now.

c) the RX590 is a waste of money. Either get an RX580 and save a couple of bucks or get a VEGA56.

Go for one of the gigabyte Aorus B450 boards

Should get a case that has airflow

The RX 590 isn't worth it over the current price of the RX 570/580 8GB models

What's your monitor resolution/refresh rate?

On high about 170 FPS. Ultra about 115 FPS, Epic about 90 FPS. Remember, though, that Overwatch is by no means demanding.

Would the vega 56 increase the performance or would it bottle next the cpu

You'd get a gain from the Vega 56, but the 2600 would start to bottleneck a bit. It would be very helpful if you could tell us your performance goal.

Yes

and it depends on the settings.

öhm, no.

Where did you get that??

VEGA and 2600 are a nice combination. Also there is something called graphics settings. Many of them are more on the GPU side, so with a more powerful GPU you can set higher textures for example or better FSAA, AF.

Right, exactly, 215, and the vega 56 on high settings (which he stated was the target) can deliver more than that. Hence a slight bottleneck.

right above I said "a bit." Nothing to the contrary :) That's also why I asked for his target. If he wants 250 or 300 FPS there's a lot to think about.

i mean, a freesync or gsync monitor sounds like a good investment

and a check if he can even see 240 over 144... a lot can't
