That card has a Khs / $ ratio of about 1.88. If you look at a 280x, that ratio is about the same but keep in mind you have fixed costs. Those costs are mobo, cpu, ram, psu, hdd, ... So you'd rather absorb those costs on a bigger net hashrate. Hence, I would suggest r9 280Xs and I would suggest 4-5 of them in order to "fill up" your mobo.

I'm not sure how you plan on getting 500kh out of that card. I would get the plain 270 instead. It will do 450kh. Recommended brand for mining and in this order would be msi, gigabyte, sapphire, and last Asus. I also own every single one of these cards, I'm not just a brand fanboy.

Local market. Look them up. Generally speaking, 400$CAN will get you one. Go with a reseller you trust, and ask for proof of purchase.

We're talking about 270s, not 280x. For 280s I would agree with you.

If you could see the cards themselves you would know what I mean here. The Msi is a much larger card with a cooler that has performed far better. The Msi cards I own have also been very solid overclockers.
