So we recently had a power outage at my work place, a restaurant, and upon rebooting our POS system which ran on Windows Embedded, attempted to boot into a blue screen. Same result when launching into safe mode, or attempting a recovery image. I'm going to be attempting to retrieve the Windows Key if possible from BIOS, but besides this one video haven't found much that could be helpful. I know with newer windows versions it's easy to download OS installer to install from a USB drive without a key, but I need to find out if it's possible for the specific version of Windows Embedded, which I won't know until looking around tomorrow, is available to do the same and if not, what the best replacement option is as a full version of windows plus full POS programs would be too much for the system to handle.

You can reinstall windows and it will activate automatically, you don't need the key.

Also windows keys are not stored in BIOS.
