First Time on a Dual Monitor Set-up

Redrooster

Today I tried a dual monitor set-up and I can't go back. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but it's so nice. I can have 2 tabs open on each screen. So I can have a podcast on youtube going, post on the LTT forum, play Clone Hero, and have reddit or twitter open.

I recommend it to anyone who likes to run more than one thing at a time

I love mine, if you think you can use the screen space and can afford the price hike for em it's totally worth

I have a $500 price cap, any suggestions? (preferably high refresh rate)

LG has some 1080p with i think 100-144hz Ultrawide but mostly freesync so you might have to check if they support Gsync if you have a Nvidia card

If you want to run Gsync on a freesync panel you have to make sure it has displayport input and that you use it. I have a LG ultrawide with freesync but because I only have 2 hdmi for input I can't turn on Gsync duo to this not working over hdmi.

Usually for Gsync you had to have a Gsync panel with a Gsync chip in the panel and a Nvidia card because it was a Nvidia standard. Now Nvidia has made it that some freesync panels can run Gsync without any Gsync hardware. It should work for all FreeSync panels in theory as long as they have DisplayPort because Gsync doesn't work over HDMI. Their working is roughly the same tho

but what separates gsync from regular vsync?

Check out those two. Fit in the budget and have high refresh rate/resolution. In my area those are the only two below 500 euro with higher then 85Hz refresh rate

Gsync and FreeSync. Vsync is just limiting your game to the refresh rate of the monitor. Gsync and FreeSync do it the other way arround. they have a variable refresh rate, let's say between 40Hz and 100Hz (would be a 100Hz panel). If your fps drops below 100Hz the panel changes it's refresh rate to match your fps so lag doesn't become as noticeable.
