Need GPU advice on 7870k for dota 2

Hello,

I need help on the best gpu to pair with a10 7870k for playing dota 2. I aiming on 60fps up on 1080p monitor at max graphics settings.

I have read this cpu is weak in terms of gpu pairing compared to intel or fx/ryzen and I'm too broke to replace it and it is still working so I am planning to give it a little boost since dota 2 frame rate on the integrated graphics is actually decent.

This is also to prepare for my next build (I'm buying graphics card first ?)

Thanks!

Check out the Ryzen 2200G, I think it will be a better option over getting a GPU.

The best Nividia GPU that that CPU can support without a bottle neck is the 1050ti or the 1060. If you get the 1060 don't get the 3GB. Its a waste of money and only for cryptocurrency miners.

The RX 570 is far better than the 1050 TI, I would choose it everyday over the 1050 TI however moving up in price range the gap begins to close after the 1060 3GB. The 1060 3GB is very close in performance and price to the RX 580 and I would honestly just get which ever one comes on sale first in my case.

I have these prices in a shop nearby.

GIGABYTE GTX 1050 TI OC 4GB GDDR5 (GV-N105TOC-4GD) - 167$

GIGABYTE RX 570 4GB GDDR5 GAMING (GV-RX570GAMING-4GD) - 150$

How about the RX 580? its at a good price point in a lot of areas and is far better than the 1050Ti (and to a point the 1060 too)

These are the lowest price I can find on their website.

SAPPHIRE RX 580 NITRO+ 8GB GDDR5 DUAL HDMI / DVI-D / DUAL DP W/BP (UEFI) (SPR-11265-01-20G) - 285$
GALAX GALAX GTX 1060 OC 3GB DUAL FAN - 185$

BTW what is the recommended brand for GPU?

That makes sense, so yes the GTX 1060 makes sense....

The 3 GB version is decent enough.

But if you want more vram and a card with some good flair to it aim for that RX 570

Sure its only 1 gig more but vram is very handy to have in a lot of titles.

Sure the RX 570 isnt as good as the GTX 1060 but for 1080p its just fine

If you need benchmarks

So I should just go with rx570?

Is GALAX a good brand?

I'm just avoiding bottlenecking right now.. as long as it can maintain 60fps or higher on dota 2,its good to me.

Then i say the RX 570 should be a fair match and if money is a bit of an issue for you I would go with it.

I mean you could get the GTX1060 but the gains it has over the RX 570 are not drastic enough for your price point

all in check for the sudden drop on fps its mostly CPU dependant and its on DX9. there is 1 setting that didnt maxed out, its shadow only high

no dota, csgo and other source game require more boost clock. what i meant was a teamfight happening and probably more core is needed. it wont bottleneck at a game that doesnt require more core or more clock speed

well i found this which is worse than an RX 570 and your current CPU and almost can handle 60fps only a 1-10fps less stable
