So I should get an SSD (500 GB) and an HDD (1TB)?

Also. I believe there will be problems if your OS is unlicensed? Thanks for answering.

Not necessarily problems but you get a water mark & lose some customization

Hey guys! So I'm new to computer building. I just got my first job ever (yay) so I'm planning to build my own PC. I discovered PC Part Picker and I read some sample builds.

I was planning to buy a ready-made PC but I wanted to learn and explore about hardware and stuff. Here's what I came up with:

I know the website said that it is all compatible but if any of you know any complications or parts with bad reviews, I would be happy to hear them.

Also, can you give me any advice with this build? How to lessen the price a little bit maybe and not affect performance greatly?

Where to get my OS cheaply and how to install the necessary programs? I'm a total newbie in computer stuff and just want to start my journey in this field.

Thank you so much!!

I would take an SSD over a HDD for raw speed. Or if you can squeeze $50, install your OS and progams to this, games and other storage to the second drive. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4mkj4D/crucial-mx500-250gb-25-solid-state-drive-ct250mx500ssd1

You don't *need* to purchase windows, you can use it unlicensed by just clicking "I don't have a key" during the installation.

I'd suggest changing that hard drive out to a 500 GB SSD just for the faster load times. It's enough for the beginning and hard drives aren't too expensive to add later.

Oh is it okay if I don't have HDD? Alright. Since two of you guys suggested it I'll try to go for SSD. Can you give me any recommendation for a good budget one?

Thank you!

I still need more answers tho, but I did it anyway. I hope this doesn't make the thread inactive. More suggestions would be great.

What other questions do you have. The overall build is good for a beginner build. If you're worried about actually building, follow a build guide on youtube. The hardest part is seating the CPU, after that, you're golden.

The MSI 580 is not that good, Red Devil is a really good card for little more. Also the Ryzen 7 8 cores is a smarter choice, easy overclockable to decent clocks with a good motherboard and cooling

Alright thank you. I'm just waiting for other suggestions of maybe changing a part or something. I will check them out tonight.

Wow thanks for this. I will do further research tonight. This CPU only has 3GHZ tho, is that better compared to 5 with 3.4 and two less cores?

For games higher clocks is better, but we are talking about the high end AMD Ryzen with 8 cores that can easily overclock to 3.4+ with the right motherboard and cooling ;)

As a newbie in computer building. I'm not that familiar with overclocking but that sounds awesome. So is my motherboard and cooler the right one? :D
