Hi,

I'm new on here so I hope this is the right place to post this question!!

I have an MSI Z370 Gaming pro carbon motherboard in a recently built gaming PC. I've been trying to use an external disk drive with it but to no avail.

I contacted the drives manufacturer and all of my drivers seem to be up to date. It was the first gaming pc i've built so I was wondering if I needed to buy another part to install on my mobo to make the drive compatible or if it should just be able to detect it right away?? When I plug it in the drive isn't even detected but it turns on.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated coz it is driving me nuts!!!

Thanks

It's probably not initialized, which is common with new drives.

Search for "disk management" and see if you can find it in there.

If you can't, check "device manager" and see if you can find a sign of the drive there.

If both don't show a sign of the HDD, we will need to dig deeper.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3
