Rtx 2080ti underperfroming?

Hello everyone, recently I've bought a new pc with and RTX 2080ti and I suspect it is underperforming....

I play on a 2k 100Hz monitor and I mostly dont get 100fps on recent games with high settings although I've seen countless videos showing games running on 120-130fps at these resolutions...

My card also gets quite hot and never passes  1700Mhz clock speed .

Furthermore, I experience stuttering and fps drops every once in while.

What's the rest of your system?

Have you tried running MSI Afterburners OSD so you can see what your GPU and CPU are doing in therms of usage, heat en (V)RAM usage?

Usage is between 80-97% and CPU usage never goes above 85%

Ryzen 7 2700X will bottleneck the 2080 Ti even at 4k depending the game.

 

 

If you wanted to build a super high end gaming rig with a RTX 2080 Ti you should have used an i7 9700K instead being honest.

 

Things you can do is DDU in safe mode and reinstall drivers fresh new, this should have the card working as intended, but I think everything already is working as it should

Then why buy a RTX 2080 Ti which also costs a lot of money if you'll not use it's full potential? could have gone with the RTX 2080 if you wanted to save money on a Ryzen.

I plan on upgrading the CPU to the top of the line ryzen 3000 once the series comes out

If it's not 2 separate cables then that's you problem, the PSU can't provide enough power though one cable so the GPU is starving for power.

Well it won't solve you bottlenecking problem though.

That's not too hot so I very much doubt that has anything to do with it.

73°C isn't hot, I'd start worrying at ~90+
