Much like Razer as a company, I don't like their switches. Functionally, they're fine, and I'd expect that they'll hold up long enough to not be anywhere close to being an issue, but on every single Razer keyboard I've ever personally handled, I've seen back-lighting die after very short usage. The switches themselves also have relatively inconsistent quality control, with some switches being very noticeably easier or harder to press than others.

Here's my Blackwidow Chroma. Over 2 years with me. Been through some heavy hardcore MMORPG for over a year. Everything works perfectly fine. No issues with switches at all. All lighting still works like new in full rainbow.

Nowadays they are not that bad, but also not super good.

There is some inconsistency between one switch to another (some feeling heavier than others) and they feel somewhat scratchy (although Cherry is not much better in that regard).

I had/have the Ornata Chroma and regret buying it. It looks okay but the lighting is badly designed (white backdrop sucks for typing visibility) and the switches are awful if you ask me. Terrible to get used to and quite sticky and gummy for mecha-membrane style keys! Just get a mechanical keyboard for the same price. I'm currently typing on a K780 by Logitech (wireless with round chiclet keys) and the typing experience is 100x better. My old Rantopad MXX with Blue switches definitely won the switches competition.

I think they're fine. I've owned a Black Widow Chroma Stealth (orange keys) for a few years now and haven't had any hardware issues with it. The keyboard I had before this was the 2013 version with Cherry browns. The orange feel different than the browns, but I didn't notice any difference in quality between the two. The keys on my current keyboard all feel the same (as did the browns on my last keyboard).
