I know that coding can be useful sometimes while gaming for example if you need to mode a game or if you want to "change" something on an offline game you might want to learn to code but at the same time depending on the programing language it could take ages to learn and might not give you any use depending on the games you play

I used to put together custom Android builds, particularly for the Skyrocket. It pays to know how to read little snippets of code here and there. More importantly, it pays to know what those little bits of code control, and how you can edit them without bricking your phone. Amongst our Skyrocket modding community, which was admittedly small given how limited the Skyrocket's distribution was, I don't know that anyone was capable of sitting down and writing an Android distro from the ground up. We all knew what to look for in the code, how to change it, and how to test and make sure the changes made were safe. Even if you're modding a game, you don't need to be able to code to do it.

People in here talking as if modifying config files is programming.. you absolutely don’t need to know how to program to game. I’m a software engineer and I would say that programming makes you worse at gaming.. because you have less free time to game!

One could throw the "programming is telling a computer what to do" to the logical extreme by saying clicking on something is programming because hey, they told the computer what to do somehow.

Should people who use magnets know how they work?

No. F**king magnets. So damn complicated.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
