Just have a simple question out of curiosity.

I was at the microsoft store and was using the laptops there, and I noticed idle system RAM usage was relatively high. I looked in the processes and it seemed that the Software installed by the OEM seemed to take quite a bit of RAM.

So my question is: If I were to buy one of these laptops. Would it be a good idea to do a fresh install of Windows 10 and install only the required drivers? Or would the OEM software automatically install after a fresh install of Windows?

Yeah, always do a clean install when you buy a prebuilt system or laptop.

Yea. You could start manually uninstalling things... but it will most likely take you more time, especially that with Windows 10, when you get it via the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, you get the latest version, saving you a good part of the update process (assuming you'll be using a relatively fast USB flash drive).

Just make sure that the system has an SSD. It has nothing to do with anything on topic, but you'll more then thank me. HDD system (as the main drive), in my opinion, should not even be in one radar even on a tight budget, and even if the user will be checking e-mails, especially that they are so cheap now.
