Hi all,

I'm 34 and just not very clued up, so just over a year ago i bought a basic pc just for a bit of gaming and general internet/work stuff and have got my moneys worth.  Spec is....

Intel i7-4770 @ 3.4

16 gb

Radeon RX 550 series

250gb SSD

1TB hdd

I happen to have purchased a brand new 500gb toshiba for re-selling a HP mini desktop pc, so its a 2.5inch drive but apart from getting an adaptor, I would like to add it to this desktop pc but for some reason I believe i dont have a spare 'power' connector, i have a longer connector plugged into it and I have 2 spares of these, both with spare's off the main 2 disk drives.

Problem is i don't seem to have a spare smaller connector?  I have a semi-modular (i think) EVGA 450BT bronze (i swapped it for an original switching one as was advised these were a little unsafe).

When looking up the 450BT, I get a non modular PSU (meaning all cables are directly attached to the PSU), which shows it has 4 SATA connectors (2 on one cable, 2 on another). These connectors are used to power HDD's, SSD's, optical drives (DVD player) and some more stuff (mostly those three).

On your hard drive there is likely two connectors of interest; the wider (widest on the drive) connector that is for power, that comes from your PSU and a smaller (less wide) one that is for data transfer which has to be connected to your motherboard with a SATA cable.

Check what PSU you have and possibly where the cables are tucked away, the cable may be tucked away somewhere obscure, like behind the motherboard (if your case has cable management space)

To Luke - Yes the first photo is the connector i'm missing.

To Mini - Yes your correct, I have two sets of cables.

Both sets consists of... 2 power connectors with a smaller data connector (and theres two of these cables).  So I have a couple of loose power connectors which are spliced into the both sets but I cant see any spare data connectors.

So looks like I'm maxed out at 2 drives.

Thank you for your prompt replies.
