I'm looking at starting a new build for around the $2000 price range. I'm going with the i9-9900k and was considering a GeForce RTX 2070 as well, everything else is open. Any ideas/recommendations for the remaining components? I have no interest in 4k, already have the monitors and will mainly play games and stream. I also run 3 monitors. When it comes to a case, I'm all about air flow, I could care less what it looks like.

It's a 9600K. It won't consume 1,000W at full load. 650W is fine, although i'd go for 750W

wattage isn't the problem

it's the unit you chose... focus has problems with both the v64 and the 2080 ti because of the high peak wattage...

I don't mind suggesting it for like a 2060 or 2070, but not above it

It has?

Alright. I'd then substitute it for a RMx or Prime Ultra

good choices

keep in mind it's the whole focus line, so also earthwatts gold, focus plus and even the platinum

the prime doesn't

I suggest the brand new psu list, might be interesting for you too to look into

how about a ryzen 5 2600X maybe thats good but at this price range its pointless if you have the money and willing to spend it that much there's no point in saving unless there is some specific items you want to get in there

2600x is just a factory overclocked version, both are unlocked for overclocking. only if you can find a deal on it, otherwise it makes little sense

but that aside, let's focus on OP again?

This looks pretty good, I'd probably do a few upgrades and shoot for $2500 total. I wasnt sure if RTX 2080 was worth the added price, still undecided.

with a good 750 watt you can make a 9900k option for around 2100 dollars too

Well you're budget is only around 1800 yeah about that maybe just 1 stick 8gb, probably still OK you can add it in later anyway right? So it's less like 40 and does makes difference in performance why do I even think about it. Is it need to be an aorus I know it's good but something else can maybe help it will get around 100 with only 1 stick probably

yeah i mean like why do i want a 9900k with a 8gb of rams, downgrade the GPU for future upgrade? no that doesnt makes sense if you want to play 1440 144Hz. well i geuss adding 100 is the way

you can just change the cpu, gpu and psu

i9 9900k 2070/2080, RMx 750 or something else

get outside that 9900k

both

it's overkill, no need. i would rather have a 9600k with a 2080 ti than a 9900k with a 2070

if its for gaming the rtx 2080 Ti is the way to go for a large margin like the difference and performance is noticable too
