MY MONSTER PC IS

CPU: RYZEN 7 1700

RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3200MHZCL15 GS KILL RIP JAWS

GPU: GTX 970 G1 GAMING

MONITOR: DELLP2416D 24'' 2560X1440 60 HZ IPS

PSU: CORSAI 750M 740 WATT

HDD 1 WD BLACK 4TB

HDD2 1 TB

It still runs max settings 1440p 30+ fps evrything but iam considering buying 2 RTX 2080 TIS or wait for RTX 3080TI so ican run ray tracing at max settings 1440p. What should ido ? Buy 2 RTX 2080TI now or wait for 3080 ti? As you see from my specs  my latest upgrade was in 2017(cpu ram motherboard hdd upgraded from core i5 2500k and 12 gb ddr3 1600 mhz after 6 years) and in 2016 when i upgraded monitor and psu(from 21'' 1080p to 24'' 1440p and rom 600 to 750 watt). What should i do now? GRAP those 2 RTX 2080TIS like all famous youtubers do? Money is not issue for me because imake 110000 euros each year.

SLI is pretty much a waste of money these days.

A Single RTX 2080Ti is plenty for 1440P, that's what I run and it will play any game I have seen at great frame rates (High FPS) at max settings.

The only game that will slow it down some is METRO EXODUS at MAX settings, but then that is a GPU killer.

if you can wait an entire year then might as well wait it out. unless your itch to spend compels you ._.

Yeah there's definitely not going to be a new gen until end year/next year so it all depends on your needs ATM.

Problem is every new gen people will say "wait for next gen".

You either will pay a lot for the highest end or wait for its price to get lower but it's no longer going to be the highest end, you know what I mean :)

Should have written it differently but that's what I was meaning :)

Yes, you should absolutely spend $2500 on that non-monster PC.

Tax time messes people up.

Upgrade that CPU (maybe that motherboard as well), add and SSD, buy a new monitor, then maybe buy a single RTX2080Ti.

What are you saying?! Monitor is just 2,5 years old and is 1440p and 2 also 2 years old and is very good since it is 8 core and not all games need 8 cores yet for max settings 1440p. As i said when gtx 970 released i had a much worse cpu then a core i5 2500k and didnt have any issues in games so i dont think the much more powerful ryzen 1700 will have problems any time soon at max settings 1440p. There is no need to ugprade cpu or monitor or motherboard so soon since i upgraded them.

2080ti released on september but if amd releases something as powerful or even better than rtx 2080 ti then nvida will be forced to release next gen much sooner so dont be surprised if we see rtx 3080 ti in few months. We also have intel coming to graphics card market and they will be making high end cards like nvidia but at much lower prices than them because they wil need to get enough market.

That won't happen.

The 2080Ti is a MONSTER, there is really nothing even close to it performance wise.

AMD already released their new card.

I don't see any AMD cards taking the place of "top of the line" anytime soon. A "3080 Ti" won't be showing up for a while, so just stick to the 2080 Ti unless you can wait 1 yr+.

SLI/NVLink is also overkill with this card, and your CPU would probably bottleneck you anyway.

You have a 60 Hz monitor.

Please think your build thru before buying the 2080Ti.

Sure it can, no problem, I have one and can run at max settings at 1440P with Ray Tracing on.

It will be awhile before Ray Tracing is more universal though.

Waiting on the game developers to patch the games etc at this point.

And the new games will be more optimized for Ray Tracing as time goes on.

it's always the same situation - only you can decide if something is worth buying now.

The only caveat there is if there are strong rumors of a new generation coming pretty soon - then I always suggest waiting a bit.

That all being said...  money is very much an issue for me, but I don't spend it often and hit a point in life where when I build a rig I want the best possible hardware for the use case. If you really don't care about money, the Titan RTX is a tiny bit more powerful than the 2080 TI. I have 2 in my HEDT rig and 1 in the 9900k rig. No regrets after shunt resistor swapping and water cooling.
