Other than the fact it's expensive...? Dell monitors usually are really amazing so it wouldn't be a bad buy, but I don't know if there are cheaper alternatives.

The Dell one isn't "bad" but it's only 60HZ

I got one myself coming from a 22 inch 1080p TN panel.

The colors on this monitor are really great, and i love 1440p for general stuff and coding.

I'm not sure if i would recommend it for gaming. Not because its a bad monitor but because 1440p is a lot of pixels to fill. I have a GTX780 and i just cant get my games to run at highsettings and get above 60fps 100% of the time.

For games like League of Legends this isnt a problem because its such an ugly but light game. If you're gonna run more intensive games like Battlefield or Metro i would consider going for a 1080p screen.

About the monitor itself: good colors, default brightness is too high in my opinion (75%). I personally dont experience input lag but im not a good/hardcore FPS gamer (playing League of Legends almost exclusively). What I really like is that you can adjust the brightness from software using Dells display manager. You can also use that program to devide you're screen in more then 2 halfs and snap programs in (windows only let's u snap programs to the side taking half the screen).
