It's a nice build, but any reason why you specifically only chose newegg? There are other reliable sites with better deals.

When i did breakdown by merchant newegg was the only one that had all the parts

get an i5 4670k

way better

it runs cooler, and can overclock more
also a lot more power per core, which is what you want for gaming, since most games cannot use more than 4 cores

NEW PC build: Blank Heaven   minimalist white and black PC     Old S340 build log "White Heaven"        The "LIGHTCANON" flashlight build log        Project AntiRoll (prototype)        Custom speaker project

No

Games are going to be using more cores, 8350 is clocked higher and you have a better chance of getting better OC

  • Personal opinion
  • 8350's don't get very hot, and are stock clocked higher, and overclock higher?
  • When gaming, the performance is negligible in difference, also you're wrong at that last part depending on the game

It is not "way" better, they are on par, that depends on the cooler, and no it cannot overclock more, most 8350s can hit 4.6, with an H100i while some 4670k' can't even do 4.4

That ram is purely for looks huh? Because that's expensive for 8 gigs. :P Might want to look at the 3 TB Barracuda drive for ~$100 instead of that 1 TB. Good build though.

Did some modifications to the ram and added a bigger ssd. do you think it is better now?

It was perfectly fine as is, just thought it was a bit funny because I can only see tracer ram only for looks. Which is perfectly fine by me.

I believe SolidWorks 2014 is the only version that works with Windows 8.1.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

oh yeah? well then why does nobody use 16 core xeons for gaming then?

CAUSE THE GAME DOESNT USE THE CORES

For one, 16 core xeons are pretty absurdly expensive.

not that much more than a 4960X

Which is also why the 4960x is not recommended over the cheaper 4930k.
