This is the story:

My system is nearly 2 yrs old on 16Gb Ram running 2800mhz stabl @1.35v

Today i just purchased another 16GB Gskill Trident Z RGB F4-300016D-16GTZR same model of my old ram.

But if i insert it on all 4slot and overclock it to 2666mhz or 2800mhz i only get 2133mhz. I will always reset to default speed.

I even try insert only the two new ram and remove my old 2 ram and it can run 2800mhz. This means my 2 new ram is working properly.

Tried also remove Cmos and Jumper.

Im frustrated that my 4 ram can only run at 2133mhz to 2400mhz.

Please help me to run at higher speed 2800mhz above

Latest bios on the board? You loada DOCP (XMP) profiles yet the ram reverts to the base JEDEC frequency? strange

i wouldnt go above cl16 to get extra ramspeed.

Sorry im noob about ram overclocking and timings.

I am stable  at 2800mhz default timings (CL16-18-18-38 1.35V) if only 2 rams installed

My goal is to have stable 2800mhz so i will not change my ram timings? only voltage right?

or

Can you give me exact timings i will put?

Please guide me

keep timings and only up voltage. 1,4 volts is still really far within degredation limits.

Some boards like all 4 DIMMs being populated, some don't.

I would indeed try some additional voltage, wouldn't go to looser timings unless you get in to adding 0.1V territory as that's a bit much. It could also be secondary or tertiary timings that are just being set too tight by the board.

To clarify, will your system not boot with 4 sticks installed and XMP set, or does it boot but show 2133MHz in CPUz etc on the memory tab? If it boots but the RAM is not running at the speed you set, that's a different issue that adding voltage likely won't fix.

CPU Cooler: EK AIO that will be being replaced when I get the chance - PSU: eVGA P2 1200W

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC @ either 2595MHz @ 900mV or 2970MHz @ 1070mV
