Check the FAQ for more info - it is essentially a project where we use distributed computing to help solve complex protein folding equations. This in turn can help scientist understand and learn more about a lot of diseases. It uses idle cycles of your system to run so when you aren't even at your computer, it is working away to help. :)

I kind of wish I had an EVGA SR-X with a pair of Intel Xeon E5-2690's, I bet that could help a little:)

I wonder what my Core i3 would do?

Sorry, my english isn't the best but basically scientists are using my computer power to solve some equations ?!?

Yes. They send you a problem to solve and your computer resolve it. It's about the folding of proteins, you even get a graphic view of that that's kinda cool.

So if I understand what you are saying, folding is basically you let your computer join a system of other computers to form a worldwide supercomputer but is actually broken down into individual computers.
yes

Pretty much yes, that is the idea of distributed computing. Many small systems working more efficiently on small pieces. Together we work to solve larger problems. Protein folding is something that goes on in your body all the time. It is when it goes wrong that bad things happen, like cancer. So, folding is trying to help scientist understand why proteins mis-fold. My explanation in a very generic way. :)

They even have a screensaver that is nice looking, but on your desktop search for FAHViewer.exe or something of the sorts.

I'm not sure how well the sigs work here but you could just put it in your sig like it's done on other forums.

That way when anybody that wants to know your rig specs, all you have to say is "Rig is in the sig below" or something to that effect.  ;)

Sigs work fine - you just need to go to your profile settings...

To start, download app, install, Fold! :)  Also, don't forget to get a passkey. Check the FAQ for more info... and the Links sticky
