Upgrading laptop memory and reducing thermals

Before I get started, here is my laptop model name

-Acer Predator Triton 500(PT515-51-70NC)

My issue is that I bought this knowing that it is only 8GB of Ddr4 memory but it is insufficient for my daily usage and hence I wanted to add another 8GB of ramstick into the extra empty ram slot on the laptop motherboard since it is a dual channel (Correct me if I am wrong on this part)However,I have been advised by the salesman not to add ram on my own,as wrong ramstick could damage my laptop and could void my warranty. If I would to do this manually, what type of ram stick (would 2666mhz be the one?)I would appreciate if someone could recommend me a brand that I could trust on.

Issue number 2,I have seen a sticker covering on of the screws stating that my warranty will be void of the seal is broken?(Picture below)What exactly that this means?Once I tear of the sticker,I will lose all 3 years of my warranty?i mean on a Long term use, surely the sticker will be damaged at some point right?Or is it not damaging the internal components?Because without removing that sticker I don’t think I can access the final screw and remove the laptop chassis in the first place. If there is an alternate way of opening this laptop or anything,I would be glad to know.

Final Issue #3

-I find it a joke when I am just streaming videos and my cpu i7 8750H hit a constant 45-50+Degrees celcius. Is this abnormal?I am thinking about undervolting the cpu and perhaps applying a better quality thermal paste on both the cpu and the Gpu together when inserting the new 8GB of ramstick. If that is possible, any recommendation for thermal paste etc?Thank you!

Add the ram yourself, you'll be fine.   I would add exactly the same as you already have, what is it?

Your temps are fine,  No need to redo the paste.  Laptops are hot, consequence of being small.

As for the Void sticker, not sure how those are handled in your country.  Some they cannot enforce, some they may be able to.  Usually they cannot tho.

Alright I would add the ram stick as advised but I would need to reconfirm regarding the warranty sticker thingy(Because as previously mentioned, there’s another screw below which the sticker is covering it and hence I won’t be able to open the chasis.I live in Singapore, not sure if they strictly enforce on this,I think I will email them regarding this part.

Just now, PacketMan said:

45-50ºC isn't that much considering the ambient temperature and knowing that laptop CPUs run hot, it's not optimal but you can always use some power saving mode while doing light tasks

True that,I will take your advise into consideration.Thank you.

Check with the manufacturer for the warranty. It will not damage the laptop.

Sure thing.I think I will check with Acer to confirm the warranty issue if I were to remove the sticker.Thanks.
