Hi all,

I'm scanning for a new case. I currently have a Fractal Design Arc Midi R2, but I feel like the dust filters are a bit to obstructive and I would prefer having the intake fans closer to the GPU. I kinda like the dual chamber designs, and I have been looking at the Carbide Air series. The 240 seems very nice, but also rather difficult to work with. The 540 is a bit bigger and seems easier to work in, but is also quite expensive. I have also looked at the Lian Li PC-O11 air, which costs the same as the Carbide air 540.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with these cases or advice about other similar cases. Airflow is the main concern, but it should also look decent.

Cheers

I really enjoyed building in my Lian Li PC-O11 and and less so in my friends Air 240. The air 240 looks nice but is very tight and cable management holes are pretty poorly placed for the hardware he put in at least. No experience with the Air 540

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

for airflow, go with the air 540/240, but only if you like the look (i think its nice, except for the acrylic.). for aesthetics go with 280x. for watercooling & aesthetics go with the lian li.

I like the look. I also like the look of the others but the air 540/240 look better in terms of airflow.

Yeah I kinda fear for the 240. I don't really need it to be so small, the only reason would be that it looks slightly better and possibly that it's easier to replace the air quickly if there's less volume I guess.

PC-O11 flows lots of air if you stuff it with fans, but keep in mind that you cant go with any especially tall tower coolers in it

So my plan is to have two fans in the top and a 120mm AiO with push pull in the back as exhaust, and then stuff the front with intake fans.

cant mount a 120mm AIO in the back of the PC-O11 afaik, you can mount the AIO in the top, bottom or the side(and the front? not sure if you can mount fans in the front of the Air version) but not the back

Ah yes I see, so then I would mount it in the top. I mostly meant that I was planning to use the AiO as exhaust.

Love the 540’s. I’d like a 240 but I’d have to build towards that, hard to fit two cards in it and keep them cool and watercool.

Aicrystal have cube cases that offer modern touches that’d I’d like over my 540’s.

Tempered glass ans actually built for water cooling. But still have a lot of airflow options.

That Anidees AI17 looks like a valid option for me.
