It has a 16x PCIE slot so yah almost any GPU should go in(like anything made after 2006 or so because that's when AGP died) , CPU will hold back the latest and greatest but I'm guessing with a system like that you are looking for like an RX 570 or so in performance.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Yes. With those specs, I wouldn't go higher than a GTX750 or GT1030 though.

ATI continued making AGP cards until 2009 though :D HD4670 1GB AGP was a beast!

GTX 1050 would likely be fine too, but the 1050 Ti and beyond, absolutely fucking not jesus fucking christ

The maximum I'd recommend is a 1050 (or 1050 Ti if you're crazy). A RX 570, not at all!

Its not like a CPU bottleneck makes a system crash and burn. You talk about it like the system would explode or something. It's not wrong to get a better GPU than you can use if you will upgrade the system later. With a big OC I'm sure a 570 will be a decent match

As someone who had a CPU that had 80% better singlecore than the Q5500 (and 40% better multicore) for about 3 years, I could tell you that it would bottleneck the shit out of a RX 570. A OC certainly wouldn't help it.

As someone who had a Q6600 I can say that an RX 560 level card is perfectly fine at stock even. Also never heard of the Q5500 before? This guy has a Q9550 so typo?

I meant the Q9550, yes.

The RX 560 and RX 570 are fucking worlds apart, look it up lol, the RX 570 is about the same as a 1060 6GB and the 560 just under a 1050

Since when did the RX 570 crawl up an entire teir? Lol? The 580 is what's equal to the 1060 6GB.

AMD's drivers unfucked themselves which made the RX570 closer to the 580 than the 560 by a considerable margin.
