I tried overclocking the Radeon HD 7650m on my Probook 4441s. Both the core and memory clock capped out at its stock speeds. So I went to the settings and enabled unofficial overclocking without powerplay (also tried with but didnt work). But the core and memory sliders showed 0 (not +0) and didnt allow me to change anything. I know some people have done it and it seems like there is some overclocking headroom. Im running the radeon crimson version 2016.0226.1531.27895 and driver version 15.301.1901.0

I tried the WHQL Catylist one but it didnt work either.

Overclocking a cheap laptop is a bad idea most of the time.

If its not stable or the temps are too high i would set it back to stock. I just want to see if there are any significant performance improvements.

There might be performance improvements for a few minutes but IMHO the machine will get hotter quickly and your core clocks both on CPU and GPU will go down to even lower than they we're before...

If you can undervolt AND overclock the GPU...maybe.

I cant undervolt the cpu either unfortunately. XTU doesn’t give me the option to and fivr on throttlestop only supports haswell and above. So it appears that there is nothing much that i can do.

I have HD6770M a.k.a HD7690M XT which is basically a binned HD7650M and i have no problem overclocking the GPU using Catalyst driver.

Also you need to run some 3d app to let MSI Afterburner read the clock speed. I usually run GPU-Z render test.

The issue is that msi afterburner can detect the clock speed and the memory speed and shows it on the dials but i cant change anything on the sliders which reads 0. It might be an issue with the dual graphics but i don’t know how to resolve it.

Edit: Tried it but didnt work

Are you on Radeon Crimson driver? DDU and install Catalyst 15.7.1.

Tried that already. But I just realised the standard 7650m has 1gb of vram while mine has 2gb which should be exclusive to HP. I’ll try the drivers on HP’s website and see how it goes.

I tried again with the HP drivers but it still remains the same. Unofficial overclocking leads to 0mhz, extend official overclocking limits keeps becoming unchecked.
